According to social commentator Reno Omokri, there is a potential surge in unmarried women in Nigeria if the country were to have increased visa-free or visa-on-arrival privileges to more nations.
Omokri attributes this trend to what he calls the "Industrial Money Obtainer culture" prevalent among Nigerian women, particularly those hailing from the southern regions of the country.
Expressing his views, Omokri mentioned that he was not taken aback by the marriage of renowned gospel artist Moses Bliss to a Ghanaian woman, suggesting that Ghanaian women are generally more relatable compared to many women from Southern Nigeria.
In a recent statement, Omokri highlighted that "Southern Nigerian men, upon traveling across Africa and abroad and encountering women who prioritize other values over financial gain, often find themselves less inclined towards relationships with Nigerian women."
He asserted that Nigerian men are highly sought after by women from South Africa and Kenya.
Emphasizing the need for a cultural shift, Omokri concluded by stating, "There is an urgent necessity for a cultural renaissance."
