Suspended Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Dr. Betta Edu, has presented herself at the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) headquarters for questioning regarding her alleged involvement in a N585 million fraud.

President Bola Tinubu suspended Edu on Monday following accusations of diverting humanitarian funds into a private bank account. The funds were intended for grants benefiting vulnerable groups in Akwa Ibom, Lagos, Cross River, and Ogun states.

Edu's suspension marks the first instance of a minister being removed from office since the inauguration of the Federal Executive Council in August of the previous year.
