In response to Davido's recent comment about Burna Boy being a "new cat" in the music industry, Nissi, the sister of the Grammy-award winning singer, took to her Instastory to throw some shade at Davido.

Nissi shared a video from one of Burna Boy's sold-out concerts abroad, with the caption

"New cats are facing their hustle."

This comes after Davido caused controversy with his statement about paving the way for Afrobeat music and referring to Burna Boy as a beneficiary of the foundation he laid down with Wizkid.

His Said:

Everybody knows now. I was one of the first. I and Wizkid were one of the first young artists to blow up and it feels good seeing new cats like Burna Boy, Rema, Fireboy, Mayorkun, you know a lot of new cats coming, killing it, Asake who was on my album."

“So, yes, I think the future of Afrobeat is in good hands.”

The debate about Burna Boy's status as a "new artiste" in the industry continues to rage on.
