In a recent interview on Prime Time with Arise News, former lawmaker representing Lagos Central, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, defended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's approach to addressing the country's economic challenges. He commended Tinubu's mindset and capacity for thinking about the welfare of the Nigerian people, stating that few individuals possess such qualities.
Obanikoro disputed claims of food scarcity in Nigeria, attributing the issue to a lack of purchasing power rather than insufficient supply. He urged Nigerians not to underestimate the president's ability to address the nation's challenges, emphasizing that resolving these issues will require time and patience.
Responding to concerns about the president's perceived lack of capacity in handling the country's problems, Obanikoro highlighted Tinubu's strategic thinking and commitment to improving governance. He acknowledged the need for measures to reduce the cost of governance and expressed confidence in Tinubu's efforts to address this issue.
Sen. Obanikoro: "When you mentioned capacity, I was almost going to laugh because if there is a thinker in this country, I doubt it, if there's going to be 2 or more better than Asiwaju when it comes to thinking for the good of our people. What you're trying to say is, What has the government done in terms of reducing the cost of governance? I agree with you on that, but I can tell you for free that the Asiwaju that I know is looking for ways to reduce the cost of governance."
Senator Musiliu Obanikoro praised President Tinubu's leadership qualities and emphasized the importance of patience and support from the Nigerian people as the government works to overcome the country's challenges.
