Victor Osimhen

Victor Osimhen, a coveted talent in the English Premier League, is drawing interest from Arsenal and Chelsea as both clubs eye the Nigerian striker for an upcoming move.

Gianfranco Zola, a former Chelsea legend, has expressed confidence in Victor Osimhen's potential success if he decides to make a move to Stamford Bridge during the next summer transfer window, according to Soccernet.ng.

Osimhen, currently showcasing his skills at Napoli, has become a prime target for major European clubs, notably Chelsea and Arsenal, as they actively seek reinforcements for their attacking lineups. Osimhen has previously revealed his admiration for Chelsea icon Didier Drogba, hinting at his openness to joining the London-based club.

Speaking on the Obionepodcast, Zola commended Osimhen's qualities, highlighting his energy, goal-scoring ability, and versatility in playing against opponents.

Zola stated, "I rate him as one of the top strikers around at the moment, for his energy, for his ability to score and also play with the opposition. I’m sure he can be a success in the Premier League as well for sure.”

While a move in the January transfer window seems unlikely, speculation is circulating that Chelsea might pursue Osimhen in the upcoming summer, leveraging his fondness for the club and the potential impact he could bring to their attacking lineup.

Zola emphasized Osimhen’s potential to significantly enhance Chelsea’s dynamics, expressing optimism about the positive impact the Nigerian forward could have on the team.

He continued, "He will change a lot of things for Chelsea to the positive, in my opinion. But again, as I said, I truly believe that it was the right thing to stay one more year with Napoli.

Acknowledging Osimhen’s remaining year on his Napoli contract and the absence of a new deal on the horizon, there is speculation that Napoli might consider a sale at the end of the current season.

With discussions centering on Osimhen’s future, Chelsea's pursuit of the talented forward could intensify as they seek to strengthen their attacking options for the upcoming campaigns.
