 The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has announced the deployment of fully armed tactical personnel to enhance border security along the Nigerian borders with the Niger Republic, particularly through Katsina State.

M. Jamilu Indabawa, the NSCDC Commandant in Katsina State, revealed this during a courtesy call by the new Katsina Area Controller of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Mr. Muhammad Umar.

Indabawa emphasized that the deployment of armed personnel is part of the collaborative efforts among security agencies in the state aimed at ensuring the safety and security of the people. He expressed gratitude for the existing synergy between the NSCDC and the Nigeria Customs Service in the state.

The NSCDC Commandant affirmed the commitment of the command to continue working closely with the customs service, particularly in areas such as intelligence sharing and joint operations.

In response, Controller Muhammad Umar highlighted the importance of increased synergy in joint operations, intelligence sharing, and border drills. He acknowledged that the vast geographical area of the state requires collaborative efforts, stating that the NSCDC, with its grassroots presence, plays a crucial role in complementing the efforts of the Nigeria Customs Service.
