The Lagos State Police Command has released Nigerian singer Azeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley, and show promoter Sam Larry. Their release follows the fulfillment of their bail conditions.
Spokesman for the Lagos State Police Command, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed their release. On November 6, a Magistrate’s Court in Yaba, Lagos, granted Naira Marley and Sam Larry bail in the sum of N20 million with three sureties.
The duo had been arraigned and remanded on October 6 in connection with the circumstances surrounding the death of the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.
Magistrate Adeola Olatunbosun instructed the defendants to submit their passports and ordered them to report weekly to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti. Confirming their release, Hundeyin stated, “Naira Marley and Sammy Larry, having met their bail conditions, have been released.”
