Renowned Nollywood actor Kanayo O Kanayo dispels misconceptions surrounding money-making through rituals, underscoring the value of genuine labor in financial success.
Kanayo, famed for his portrayal of ritualistic characters in Nollywood, served as a guest speaker at Ikenga Online’s November 2023 Town Hall Meeting, addressing the topic 'Rituals, Riches, and Realities: The Myths of Money-Making and the Dignity of Labour.'
He shed light on the evolution of scams, contrasting the old 'Yahoo' method of deceptive letters and promises of extraordinary gains with today's more extreme practices, which include heinous acts like taking a life and engaging in macabre rituals with the belief that it will lead to prosperity.
The veteran actor firmly asserted, 'I fail to see any correlation between such acts and genuine wealth creation. True wealth is a product of diligent effort.'
Drawing from personal experience, Kanayo recounted the process of laying the foundation of his home in 2015 and making significant strides in 2016 when he secured a nationwide campaign with Globacom.
He humorously mentioned forgoing a brand new Range Rover to prioritize the completion of his house, emphasizing the significance of making sacrifices through hard work.
Since his iconic role as a ritualist in the 1992 film 'Living in Bondage,' Kanayo O Kanayo has consistently used his platform to challenge misconceptions about rituals and financial success, advocating for the dignity of labor as the true path to prosperity."
