In the wake of Twitter's (now X) recent announcement, creators worldwide are beginning to reap the rewards, with Nigerian creators also receiving their well-deserved payments.

On July 28, the CEO of Twitter(X) shared the news that X premium users would start receiving payments for their engagement on the platform.

"Today is the day: Ads Revenue Sharing is now live for eligible creators globally. Set up payouts from within Monetization to get paid for posting. We want X to be the best place on the internet to earn a living as a creator and this is our first step in rewarding you for your efforts. Find out more on our Help Center," the tweet read.

The Twitterverse has been abuzz with this development, as Nigerian creators proudly share screenshots of their payments. Simultaneously, other users express their interest in subscribing to Twitter Blue, the platform's premium offering.

In response, an elated Twitter influencer,

@abazwhyllz, posted a tweet announcing the receipt of a credit alert from the X app.

"Woke up to receive alert, Thank you Elon ❤️"

According to X's guidelines, eligible users must be subscribed to Twitter Blue or belong to verified organizations. Additionally, they should have accumulated a minimum of 15 million impressions across their posts in the last three months, along with a follower count of at least 500. As Twitter takes this stride towards rewarding creators, Nigerian creators stand poised to embrace the opportunities it presents.
