In the early hours of 28 May 23, the Lagos State Police Command apprehended two Yoruba Nation Agitators for their involvement in subversive activities aimed at destabilizing the state's security order. The suspects, who were part of a group of fifteen, stormed Alausa Police Division chanting "Yoruba Nation has taken over" and injuring police officers who attempted to disperse them. The rest of the agitators managed to escape.
The arrested suspects were found in possession of charms, dangerous weapons, and offensive insignias bearing Yoruba Nation Army. They claimed to have received United Nations approval for the take off of Yoruba Nation and were at the police station to inform the authorities officially. However, the police have commenced investigations into their subversive plans and their network of sponsors.
The Lagos State Police Command warns all subversive elements to steer clear of the state as it is fully ready to bring the full weight of the law to bear on any individual or group that may attempt to disrupt the state's security order. The Command has deployed its intelligence, human, and operational assets across the state in collaboration with other security agencies to effectively suppress any attempt at subversive activities.
CP Idowu Owohunwa cautions that the Command will spare no effort to unravel all the sponsors and bring them to justice. The police urge Lagosians to be vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities for prompt action.
