As the countdown to the 2023 presidential election in Nigeria continues, former Niger Delta militant leader, Mujahid Asari Dokubo, has taken the initiative to organize a rally in support of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, who he believes will be the next President of the country. Despite the mobilization of Niger Delta youths to the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal in Abuja, the security operatives prevented them from gaining entrance to the court premises.
Speaking to journalists on Monday, Dokubo remained resolute and confident, stating that the inauguration of Tinubu as the 16th Nigerian President on May 29, 2023, cannot be stopped by anyone or any group of people. However, as his rally is met with obstruction from the security operatives, the former militant warns supporters of opposition parties against any action that may interfere with his rally. He threatens that there will be consequences for such an action.
This bold move by Asari Dokubo is a clear indication of the passion and conviction that many Nigerians have for the next presidential election. While some may view his tactics as confrontational, there is no denying that he represents a group of people who believe in their right to voice their support for their chosen candidate.
