In a testimony given at the Harvesters Church in Lagos, Oladipo Olamide Emmanuel, better known by his stage name Chinko Ekun, admitted that he fell into a period of depression after losing his record deal and ending up homeless.
The street-hop star admitted that things went wrong after he had a conflict with his record company (DNE) Dek Niyor Entertainment and was forced to leave the label. As a result of this misunderstanding, Chinko would lose his car and the flat the label had given him, becoming homeless as well.
He Said: "From booking shows and flying every day to perform, I became homeless and I started squating with one of my friends."
Chinko admitted that he slept on the floor as a result of the hopelessness he had after losing his job and status. When his partner dumped him in what he describes as a "very hot breakfast," his difficulties would only get worse.
The musician revealed that there was a beach in front of the house, and on a sorrowful morning, he casually strolled there while squatting with Alooma, Davido's personal assistant.
Chinko claims that he had a conversation with God and things started to get better for him while he was at the beach. Later, he would release new music, secure a few endorsement deals, and establish himself.
